BREAKING NEWS: Sometimes cars get hit by cars.

In my life, I’ve seen dozens of cats lying in the middle of the road, their insides on the outsides. And I’ve always thought, “That’s gross.”

Then I met Penny. A wandering cat who spends all day outside and found us a by crossing a busy street.

I saw a dead cat on the road today and my heart stopped.

It wasn’t my Penny. But it was somebody’s Penny.

I hated it. I think that’s called empathy.
